4 tips for choosing a swim school ...
1. Choose a swim school with patient, caring teachers, they know what to say and do to get the very best from your child.
Caring teachers understand swim lessons might be your child’s very first educational experience and they’re keen to make that experience enjoyable.
Check to see if the teachers have undergone extensive swim teacher training, just so your child receives the best possible swim tuition.

2. Build confidence first!
A great swim school will work together with you to foster a lifelong love of learning and to build your child’s confidence, self-esteem and swimming skills. A great swim school is a place where “Happy little swimmers love to learn”.

3. Look for programs that teach your child safety skills.
Skills and activities in the program need not only to be enjoyable but to help your child become a safer and stronger swimmer.
Children in beginner programs should first be taught to enjoy the water and to master basic water safety skills, for example, learning to be happy with water over their face and being confident underwater.
Then they can be taught how to swim safely back to the side if they fall in, or to tread water. Once these basic water safety skills have been learnt they can move on to the more complex swimming skills.

4. It's hard to learn if you're cold!
It's almost impossible to concentrate and learn if you’re uncomfortable, shivering and feeling miserable. That's why choosing a pool that's heated to a comfortable temperature makes good sense.
An indoor pool, out of the wind and the weather, will be even more comfortable, plus it provides sun protection for your child’s delicate skin.
Most of all we know that to become a stronger, safer swimmer your child needs year-round time in the water. This is easier to achieve in the comfort of an indoor facility.
