What can my baby learn in water?

Learning to swim is not a sport, like wearing a bike helmet when you go bike riding, or wearing a seat belt in the car, it’s all about safety.
Should my child wear goggles at swim lessons?
Many children can only swim with goggles on, this is not safe. Most drownings happen when the victim wasn't planning to go swimming.
Sometimes you will need to give encouragement
There will be times when your child feels frustrated with progress, this is natural and it's important to offer your child lots of encouragement.

Just like crawling, walking and running swimming is a locomotor movement and it is going to take time, effort and practice to master.

What is a learning plateau? A learning Plateau is a period of time where we can’t see any progress. Your child might have been making wonderful progress and then all of a sudden doesn’t appear to make any progress at all.
